Salivary Gland BotoxTreatment overview
The salivary glands that secrete saliva include the submandibular gland and the parotid gland. When these glands become enlarged, the face can look larger or the jawline fuller.
Salivary Gland Botox reduces the size of enlarged salivary glands, so you can expect improved facial contours and a slimmer-looking face.

Salivary Gland BotoxQ&A
- Q.When will I see results?
- Results vary from person to person, but the salivary glands usually start to shrink gradually about 2 weeks after treatment, and on average you can expect a slimming effect within 1 to 2 months.
- Q.Where are the salivary glands?
- There are two main sites: the parotid glands below the ears and the submandibular glands under both sides of the jaw. When enlarged, they make these areas look prominent. At first glance, they are easily mistaken for fat. Reducing the glands can improve a wide or uneven jawline.
- Q.How is Salivary Gland Botox different from square jaw Botox or contouring injections?
- Enlarged salivary glands can look like a square jaw or weight gain, so some patients consider square jaw Botox, facial liposuction or contouring injections for a slimmer face. If enlarged salivary glands are the cause, though, these treatments may not work and could even have adverse effects. Salivary Gland Botox reduces the salivary glands themselves to create a slimmer face.

- -Inducing vomiting after treatment may shorten how long the Botox lasts and may cause pain, so avoid it.
