In a randomized multicenter study published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open in 2021, Belotero Revive was given in one session, or in three sessions at day 1, week 4 and week 8. The hyaluronic acid in the gel is of non-animal origin.

Belotero ReviveTreatment overview
Belotero Revive is licensed by Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It uses glycerol, a natural moisturizing factor, to help hold on to the water that hyaluronic acid draws into the skin. It helps with skin barrier recovery, smoother skin texture, hydration and sebum control, for clear, well-hydrated skin.
Glycerol and hyaluronic acid are skin components the body makes naturally. When UV rays damage the outermost layer of the skin, glycerol works less effectively, and hyaluronic acid also decreases over time after sun exposure. This leaves the skin more sensitive to its environment, which is why proper hydration and moisturizing matter.
- Glycerol: a natural moisturizing factor found in the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin, that helps the skin retain moisture.
- Hyaluronic acid: a key ingredient found in the deep dermal layer of the skin that draws in moisture to keep the skin hydrated.
