♥ What is PDT? A photosensitizing agent is applied to the skin, and then light or a laser of a specific wavelength is shone on it to destroy acne bacteria. It is a treatment that works by destroying the sebaceous glands. PDT stands for Photodynamic Therapy. It is the most widely used treatment for acne.Along with treating acne, with no concern about side effects, it also delivers pore reduction, blackhead removal, and reduced sebum production, among other effects.♥ What is acne care? Acne care quickly and effectively restores skin that has been damaged by external irritation, environmental changes, and pollution, and made sensitive by breakouts. It can be carried out alongside therapeutic procedures such as acne or pigmentation/scar lasers. When combined, it rapidly relieves swelling, pain, inflammation, and redness, supporting both the treatment results and the ongoing care of problem skin.PDT/Acne ManagementRecommended For

PDT/Acne ManagementQ&A
- Q.How is this different from home care?
- At Beauty Z Skin Clinic Myeongdong, professional skin care staff use sterilized tools to check your skin condition carefully and perform extraction and regeneration care to prevent secondary inflammation. If you forcibly squeeze acne that is not yet ready to be extracted, it can actually worsen the condition and cause pigmentation. If it is difficult for you to judge your own skin condition, we recommend visiting our clinic for professional care.
- Q.How can I tell comedonal acne from pustular acne?
- Comedonal acne is the earliest form of acne and appears as small, white, bumpy spots. Because sebum accumulates inside the pores, it does not disappear easily, and if left untreated, inflammation develops inside the pores and it turns into pustular acne. Simply put, pustular acne forms when comedonal acne becomes infected because sebum is blocked in the pores. Therefore, we recommend care suited to your skin type, based on an accurate diagnosis.
PDT/Acne ManagementPrecautions
Please carefully check and follow the precautions.
- -Cleansing and makeup are possible immediately after treatment, but please cleanse with cool or lukewarm water, ideally using a gentle cleanser.
- -For 3-7 days after treatment, to prevent inflammation, avoid excessive drinking, smoking, visiting saunas/jjimjilbangs, hot baths, and strenuous exercise.
- -Since dryness may occur after treatment, use moisturizer frequently and be sure to apply sunscreen when going outside.
- -Depending on your skin type, temporary breakouts, slight redness, or a burning sensation may occur, but these will quickly subside.
- -For about a week, refrain from using scrubs and avoid peeling treatments and similar procedures.
